Oil prices have fallen by about 1%.
The US stock exchanges opened higher on Thursday.
At 9.39 a.m. EDT, the Dow Jones was up 54 points, or 0.14%, to 37,710, while the S&P 500 was up eight points, or 0.17%, to 4,790.
Meanwhile, the Nasdaq rose 28 points, or 0.2%, to 15,129.
At the moment, the VIX volatility index, popularly known as the fear index, was up 0.16% to 12.45. The yield on the 10-year US Treasury note increased by 1% to 3.824%.
The dollar index fell 0.05% to 100.94, while the euro fell 0.1% to $1.1098 per euro.
Despite recent advances, precious metals fell, with gold falling 0.15% to $2,074 per ounce and silver falling 0.4% to $24.16.
Oil prices were down around 1%, with Brent oil at $78.67 per barrel and West Texas Intermediate crude at $73.36.
