Bezos makes $8.5 billion from a series of Amazon stock sales
According to documents filed with an American agency, Jeff Bezos sold an extra $2.4 billion in Amazon stock.
According to a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday, Amazon’s former president and CEO sold 14 million shares over the course of three trading days.
Bezos sold about 12 million Amazon shares this week for more than $2 billion, following two separate transactions of 12 million shares earlier this month.
With the most recent Amazon stock sale, Bezos received almost $8.5 billion.
Prior to the recent sales of 50 million shares, the American billionaire has not sold any Amazon stock since 2021.
Amazon previously revealed that Bezos could sell up to 50 million shares by the end of 2025.
On July 5, 2021, Bezos stepped down as the company’s CEO and president and became executive chairman.
His net worth is expected to be more over $189 billion as of Wednesday, according to Forbes’ Real-Time Billionaires List, which ranks him third behind Bernard Arnault and his family and Elon Musk.
