Israel calls the ambassador for talks on remarks made by the prime minister of Spain regarding the Gaza War

Pedro Sanchez’s words are deemed “heinous” by Tel Aviv.

Tel Aviv declared on Thursday that, in response to the “heinous” remarks made by Pedro Sanchez, the prime minister of Spain, it had called in Rodica Radian, its ambassador to Madrid, for consultations.

Foreign Minister Eli Cohen posted on X, saying, “We have decided to summon the Israeli ambassador to Spain for consultations following the heinous statements of the Spanish Prime Minister, in which he repeated baseless accusations.”

“Israel is and will remain compliant with international law in its actions. We will not give up until all those who have been abducted are freed and Hamas is destroyed in Gaza,” he continued.

Radian’s return to Israel is not mentioned by Cohen’s return date.

It happened as a result of an order from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the Foreign Ministry to call a “rebuke session” with the Spanish ambassador.

Without stating when or when the summons had occurred, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office stated, “Minister of Foreign Affairs Eli Cohen was instructed to summon the Spanish Ambassador to Israel for a reprimand following the shameful comments by the Spanish Prime Minister.”
