Hamas attack results in 1,200 Israeli deaths, and nearly 200 are captive: Report

According to estimates from Israeli authorities, Hamas strikes on towns close to the Gaza Strip resulted in the deaths of over 1,200 Israelis.

According to the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper on Tuesday, Tel Aviv officials think that more than 200 Israelis have been captured by Hamas in Gaza.

The latest toll has not yet been confirmed by the Israeli Health Ministry.

Over 1,000 Israelis were murdered in the Hamas strike, according to an earlier claim in the Israeli newspaper Haaretz.

On Saturday, the Palestinian organization Hamas launched an unexpected offensive, entering Israeli cities bordering Gaza while launching many rockets.

With a series of bombings in retaliation, Israel placed a complete siege on the region, which is home to over 2.2 million people.

According to the Gaza Health Ministry, the Israeli shelling of the territory resulted in at least 830 Palestinian deaths and 4,250 injuries.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has threatened to use all of Israel’s power to demolish Hamas’ capabilities and “take revenge for this black day.”
