A self-driving patrol and patrol cars driven by artificial intelligence (AI) have been unveiled at the five-day GITEX Global 2023 event, which began on Monday, October 16.
At the largest technology and startup exhibition in the world, more than 6,000 firms from around the globe gathered under the show’s theme, “The Year to Imagine AI in Everything.”
Self-driving police cars
To improve safety in residential areas, the Dubai Police revealed its self-driving security patrol. They’re anticipated to be introduced the following year.
The driverless vehicle can travel for up to 15 hours on a single charge and has a top speed of 7 km/h.
The patrol’s primary goal, which is why it was created especially for residential areas, is to increase security coverage. A cutting-edge camera with 360-degree capture capacity is one of its characteristics.
The vehicle can also identify faces, read license plates, and detect illegal activity thanks to clever technology and artificial intelligence.
The patrol is also outfitted with direct connection tools that enable it to communicate in real time with the command and control hub at the general operations department of the Dubai Police.
AI-powered patrols
To monitor and evaluate the performance of delivery bike riders working in Dubai, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai revealed patrol vehicles driven by AI.
In the beginning, five roaming cars, each with six smart cameras for a 360-degree view of the road, will be used to keep tabs on the everyday activities of more than 45,000 delivery drivers in Dubai.
High-definition cameras are used by smart patrols to spot delivery drivers who are not donning the proper uniform or safety gear.
