In a heartwarming display of support, David Schwimmer, best known for his role in “Friends,” resurfaced on social media to endorse his ex-wife Zoë Buckman’s latest art exhibition. The rare Instagram post showcased the enduring bond between the former couple.
Sharing stills from Zoë Buckman’s art display, the 56-year-old actor expressed his enthusiasm for her work, writing, “Come check out this INCREDIBLE new exhibition of work by @zoebuckman. Solo show opens TONIGHT!! Yasssss Zo!!”
David Schwimmer and British artist-photographer Zoë Buckman embarked on their journey together in 2007, eventually tying the knot in June 2010. Their union brought forth a daughter, Cleo, who is now 12 years old.
In April 2017, after nearly seven years of togetherness, they issued a joint statement announcing their separation, emphasizing their enduring love, respect, and friendship. The statement read, “It is with great love, respect and friendship that we have decided to take some time apart while we determine the future of our relationship. Our priority is, of course, our daughter’s happiness and well being during this challenging time, and so we ask for your support and respect for our privacy as we continue to raise her together and navigate this new chapter for our family.” Their divorce was finalized later that year.
Throughout their separation, David and Zoë have prioritized shielding their daughter from the public eye, with rare public appearances. Cleo occasionally makes cameo appearances on her mother’s social media, typically during special occasions such as birthdays.
In March, Zoë reciprocated the support by endorsing David’s participation in The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up to Cancer. David shared the profound reason behind his involvement, citing the losses of his grandmother and Zoë’s mother to cancer, along with his sister’s cancer survival. He underscored the importance of raising awareness and expressed gratitude for contributing in any small way.
David’s commitment paid off, as he was crowned Star Baker in his episode, triumphing over fellow contestants Jesy Nelson, Tom Davis, and Rose Matafeo. His exceptional tofu pie, show-stopping meringue sculpture, and adept handling of the Macaron-focused technical challenge clinched victory.
The former couple last made a public appearance together in 2020, joining Black Lives Matter protests following the tragic death of George Floyd. Both used their social media platforms to voice support for the movement, reaffirming their shared commitment to social justice.
