Google introduces subscription for AI chatbot Bard and renames it Gemini

The IT company also launches a new app on Android and iOS.

Google launched new subscription options for its generative artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot Bard on Thursday, renaming it Gemini.

Gemini Advanced will be accessible as part of the company’s new Google One AI Premium Plan for $19.99 per month, with a free two-month trial.

Google said that AI Premium customers would soon be able to utilize Gemini in Gmail, Docs, Slides, and Sheets.

The company noted that it has begun to roll out a new mobile experience for Gemini and Gemini Advanced, including a new Android app and the Google app on iOS.

Google’s AI chatbot competes with the Microsoft-backed startup OpenAI ChatGPT.
