The Yemeni Houthi group said on Tuesday that the US and UK conducted a series of new airstrikes on the northwestern region of Saada.
According to the Houthi-run Saba news agency, the organization issued a statement claiming that “American-British aggression aircraft launched three raids on eastern Saada City.”
There were no further information supplied about the incident.
Saada is the group’s primary stronghold in Yemen, sharing land borders with Saudi Arabia.
The US and the UK have yet to announce the strikes.
In solidarity with Gaza, the Houthis have targeted cargo ships in the Red Sea owned or controlled by Israeli enterprises, as well as those transferring commodities to and from Israel, since October 7.
With tensions rising as the US and UK conducted combined airstrikes against Houthi sites in Yemen, the group proclaimed all American and British ships to be legitimate military targets.
In response to the Red Sea attacks, a coalition led by the United States has undertaken intermittent airstrikes in Yemen targeting “Houthi locations” since January 12.
The group has periodically countered the US response.
